Let’s face it; every factory’s website promises light-speed turnaround but nobody’s actually keeping to those timelines unless quality suffers. That’s because you’re not told the whole story.

So here it is.

Yes; it’s true. Our factory is pretty fast at designing tech packs and digitised CAD patterns. We have an amazing design team!

And yes; it’s true. We can make very high quality garment samples pretty fast, too. Our sampling team are overachievers.

What many brands forget to consider are the lead times. The length of the queues of other brands waiting in line ahead of you. And there are queues all over the place.

• For example, our factory does a lot of fabric printing. But we only have a certain number of machines for each different print method.
• And our Custom Design service is very popular for clients getting their tech packs and CADs designed. But again, we only have a handful of designers.

These types of factors are what create line ups of clients waiting for their turn at each of these “activity-stages”.

The length of each of these queues depends on the number of clients ahead of you and what they’re designing/making.

You’re probably still wondering how long things take to make. Ok ok.

We’ll post some numbers but please note these timeframes are estimations and there are simply too many internal and external factors that can affect your timeframes which need to be discovered/discussed.

1. Getting a quote once your docs are submitted – same-day to 2 business days.
2. Waiting to be assigned one of our Garment Technicians – 5 to 7 business days.
3. Getting tech packs + CADs patterns designed – 2 to 3 business days (avg. 4 or 5 styles).
4. Waiting your turn to get samples cut and made – 1.5 to 2.5 weeks (holiday and seasonal effects).
5. Waiting your turn and getting test pieces of all your fabric dyeing, printing, and surface designs (called “strike-offs”) – 3 to 14 business days but can be a bit longer.
6. After you approve your strike-offs as final, then we need to actually process your fabric dyeing, printing, and all surface designs for making your samples – 3 to 14 business days.
7. Getting your samples cut and made – assuming 4 to 5 styles, could be 3 to 5 business days depending on complexity but could be longer; needs calculating.
8. Shipping your samples to you for fitting / testing – DHL air freight usually delivers door-to-door between 3 to 7 business days.
9. Waiting your turn to get bulk production started – 7 to 10 days after payment (holiday and seasonal effects).
10. Getting your bulk production made – assuming 4 to 5 styles, could be 4 to 8 weeks depending on complexity, quantities, activity-stages, etc.
11. Shipping your bulk production to you – DHL air freight usually delivers door-to-door between 3 to 7 business days; whereas sea freight, at 3cbm or above (360 shipping boxes+) is minimum 70 days and often it’s longer.
12. Getting your approvals and feedback on everything at all activity stages – often overlooked, making decisions takes longer than you think and we go at your pace.
13. Getting payments made – bank transfer times from most major banks around the world can be approx. 1 to 5 business days; whereas PayPal in our e-Shop, is instant.
